Here’s an event called the World Education Congress. This was a convention made up of business members coming from different parts of Canada to learn from industry experts and the best thought-leaders in the business. This was the closing reception for this even, had a handful of musicians, dancers, cars and dj’s attending this event. Motorcycles and nice cars were supplied by AZZKIKR.ca. Here are some pictures and hopefully I’ll be able to get some video up on there. Oh and a big thanks to Mark Smith for getting me in this event!
Here’s a piece that I had created today in Experimental 2D Graphics Class. We were supposed to make textures but I really wanted to create a piece that I could use as a portfolio piece. Just a few things that I wish I could fix about it is that it was digital so that I could fix one of the ink drops. But the cool thing about this is that I created this by hand. I really like the type of effects that turned out, will try doing something like this again.
Whistler, definitely one of my favorite places to be! I just don’t know how it gets to me but it is one of the best places to be on a summer day. Really enjoyed the family time, drove there, eat nachos at the longhorn, went for a bike ride to the lost lake, took a dip, got a drink back at the village, and drove back home at sunset. Here are the pictures, I do have to say this is my best pictures yet, really like how they turned out. Concentrated on being quick with settings especially when sitting in the car trying to take pictures of moving objects on a windy road. Pushed the depth of field and tried to throw in some portrait shots, great models Well I hope you guys like them tell me what you think. Mahalo’s!
Here are the videos I have done for my final project. Let me know what you guys think, here’s a link to my case study if you wanna know more. Read about the behind the scenes! Case Study
So it finally feels like summer in VanCity, lots have been going on lately. Been keeping myself busy working on my final and side projects but also been able to enjoy the sunshine and sometime with my girlfriend, even though it was only for a day but still enjoyed my time with her.
The Vans RoadBlock Skate Competition hosted by Vans them self, took place on 1043 Granville Street, July 3rd. It was a great turn out, lots of people came by to watch team riders of four Vancouver based skate shops. UnderWorld, BLVD SkateShop, AntiSocial and Coastal Riders.
Today I set a challenge for myself, to not edit any of the pictures I took today. So here are some pictures that came straight off the camera. The only editing I did do was re size the images so that I could blog about them.
Some new pictures that I took the other day at Magic Hour down at Jericho Beach. This is definitely my new favorite beach in the Vancouver area. I really enjoy going here cause its great to escape the downtown city life and be able to kinda kick back and chill. In this photo shoot I really was trying to capture the colors in the sky and sea. I won’t lie these photos had a little touch up on them, wish I could get my hands on a film camera so I could really challenge myself, instead of going on the computer and retouching images. But anyways check em out and hope you guys like them.
As some of you know, currently right now I am in the process of completing my final project. For those who don’t know, for my final project I have branded a company that specializes in surfing cinematography, and for the past month I have been creating short teasers to promote the company. Since the start of this project I’ve been reading a lot more about the surfing industry (if that’s what they call it) and researching a lot about the photographers that take pictures for some of these magazines I’ve been reading. One magazine in particular is Surfing Magazine. I really enjoy the photography that is featured in their monthly issues, very inspiring stuff.
So this past friday I wanted to try to take some pictures of waves, which is a little difficult to do in Vancouver just because there isn’t really any waves here, unless there’s some place downtown that I don’t know of and if there is, I need to find it. I decide to head out of the downtown area to a place called Spanish Banks. Thought I’d try this beach just because I heard its a great skimming spot, lucky I did find waves, or are they even called waves cause they were only ankle high. Whether or not they are real waves here are some photos I had taken that day.
If you wanna see larger sizes click on the images.
So just this past weekend, a few of my buddies and I decided to rent a mini cooper from zip car rentals. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing, and it was really fun. I guess what made it so fun was that we finally had a taste of freedom from the chains of VFS and the downtown life. Here are some pictures of our little adventure to North Vancouver.
