Do you ever get bored & end up browsing through all the photos on your computer? That happened to me tonight. I was looking through my photos from my Foundation year at VFS & I found a few photos that made me miss those times. I love finding photos that I forgot all about. They’re like lost treasures, found once again.

I have also been re-working my photo stamp. I wanted something more creative & fun. More.. eye-catching! And, I think I achieved just that.

Anywhoo, here’s the hidden gems I found earlier this evening.

Let me know what you think of the new photo stamp!

Yesterday, I went out for a nice walk to Kitsilano. The weather was perfect, and I just needed to be outside. I brought my trustee H5 out with me and had to capture the beauty and sun!

I still can’t believe sometimes that I live in such a gorgeous place. Downtown Vancouver is definitely one of the best places to live. Here’s some shots from my walk.

Am I ever happy summer is here. :) Enjoy life.

Hello again!

I cannot even explain how awesome yesterday was. Yesterday, was the day we shot the music video for NaRai’s “In the Light”. The first single from her debut album.

The entire video was shot in one take, in reverse, 3 times fast. I wasn’t able to take as many photos as I would have liked to, but that’s because I was having way too much fun. There was a LOT of rehearsing and set up all the elements needed for the shot. This video really has a different sense of style and look. Something unique. Not another cut-together, band singing to the camera, music video. Something that represents the artist and her music.

So, these are some of my favorite shots from the day.

So, after 15 hours on set. We were finally finished. Proud & finished! The floors were cleaned, mopped & squeegeed for two hours. I really hope I get to do this again. The people I met were amazing and I’m so glad I got this chance to work with them. Thank you Oshy for asking me, again. I’m so glad! :) Ask me anytime. This was a great experience.

Music video screening on June 27th at the Pacific Cinematheque on Howe St, Vancouver BC!

You must check out NaRai and her wonderful music @ www.myspace.com/naraimusic

You won’t be disappointed, she is amazing. <3

I have had one of the best weeks ever. Last week, I got a phone call from a fellow VFS Alumni, Ian Berg. He had asked if I could help out with a few student projects, as they were low on crew members, for the films that were being shot that week. I agreed to help, not really having any idea how much fun was awaiting me.

The first day on set was hard work. Building the set. Working as a grip. What a complete refresher of information. I hadn’t worked with lighting and set ups since Foundation at VFS. It was super fun to help built the set up of lights. Unfortunately, I had not brought my high quality camera to the set that day, but I had brought my small canon.

The first film, “Dagon” was a simple green screen shoot. One actor, , some dirt make-up, just a few shots, and basically all CG would be done in post. Fun, non-the-less.

Day One: “Dagon”

Make Up: Christa Monroe

Day two: “The Call of C’Thulhu”

This day has some gory make-up, some great set dress, some action and two awesome actors. This film again, was shot on green screen, mainly for the environment – the room, the walls. This was a full day. 10 hours spent inside the studio. Lots of photos were taken by a lot of people. These are my favorite from the shoot;

Day Three/Four: “The Music of Eric Zann”

Director: Michael Chase

Producers: Janelle Miguel & Benjamin Morales

DOP: Randy Che

1st AD: Hillary Hodges

1st AC: Thanh Doan

Gaffer: Josh Alkoff

Sound Mixer: Taavo Ruberg

Make Up: Jon Berezan & Suzie Keimock

Suuch an amazing shoot. Probably one of my favorite – mostly because it was two days of shooting, and one of the most action packed shoot of all 5 films. Also, the make-up was astonding. Everyone was shocked by how awesome of a job Jon Berezan and Suzie Keimock did. Actors were awesome and Paul Toolan was such a trooper by enduring over 3 hours of make -up.

Loved this shoot. Can’t say enough about everyone and how hard we all worked to make the shots so beautiful! Again, here are some of my favorite shots;

Day Six/Seven: “Rats in the Walls”

Director: Alastair MacLeod

Co-Director: Michael Chase

Producers: Nadeem Siddiqui & Mike Chen

DOP: Randy Che

1st AD: Hillary Hodges

1st AC: Thanh Doan

Gaffer: Josh Alkoff

Sound Mixer: Taavo Ruberg

Make Up: James Skuse & Amanda Imeson & Nikki Simpson & Carla Guwick

The last two day shoot.

This shoot was a bit different than the others. This one had lots (basically) all hard lighting. Usually using one light at a time to force dark features onto the face.

Here are my favorites;

This was definitely one of the best experiences of my life. So glad I was asked to help out and got to meet all these wonderful people and learn all the things I did. I know I sort of bombed you with lots photos, but I took so many and it was pertty difficult to not post them all.

So, Samuel and I have this kitty named Kizmet – She’s a bundled of joy.. but mostly badness. But, she’s a great model for photos. She has the perfect face, so cute and innocent.

I’ve taken SO many photos of her over the past year, and she has grown up way too fast. These are some of my favorite ones of her. Enjoy.
