A fight in the Philly – Atlanta game last night. Riley Cote and Eric Boulton throw some bombs but no one gets hurt. I’m sure Don Cherry will be showing this fight on the next Coach’s Corner. It will never leave the game, and shouldn’t really be an issue. Its accepted as a dangerous sport and a death is terrible, but its part of the game. Slap shots do much more damage then fights and that is never an issue. Unfortunately we just need to get over it.
I saw this story the other day and thought it was pretty cool. Reminds me of when I played hockey. My grandmother died when I was about 15 and when I walked into the church I saw my entire team at the funeral. I didn’t know they were going to be there, but it shows the respect and loyalty hockey players have even at a young age. Anyways check out this story.
The final few days in the Cage are now over. Hard to imagine that some of us were in there for almost 40 hours straight and many of us going on about 12 hours of sleep in 4 days. But we all finished. Everyone’s chroma key projects were really good and there were some wicked flash sites. Didn’t think I would see so much blood. Wow. Anyway, term 2 was ridiculous, the final few weeks at least. This break is nice, still catching up on sleep I think. Leaving for Alberta today, be back next week. Ill have to ask Aaron what the new name for Purple(new class room) is now. See you there.
I would like to thank my actress in the talking head, Lisa, who unfortunately sits besides me in many of my classes and pretty much got this blog up and running for me. She should be nominated for the most sarcastic person in the world award, she even puts me to shame. Not too sure how I get anything done sitting beside her in class, constantly laughing. She does have to put up with my stupid Illustrator questions, which is a lot. But nobody can do a better impersonation of Bun Lee then her. If you close your eyes and forget the fact she is not a man, you would swear it was him.
I think Im going to stop cheering for teams in sports. They NEVER win. For example, I went to the Bombers game last night. They lost and are now 0-4 this season. They also lost the Grey Cup last year. The Flames were the most frustrating team in hockey while I lived in Calgary. When I cheered for the Penguins, Senators, Oilers and Flames in the last four Stanley Cup Finals, they all lost. When I finally moved back to Manitoba, the Jets moved away! What is that?! When is it going to end? No wonder no Canadian team in the NHL, the Jays or Raptors have not won anything since ‘93. The only good thing about this hex, the Canucks aren’t going to win a damn thing!
Anyone else enjoy riding the bus? I think its hilarious, sometimes. When people try to use the pull down seats, and try to sit down when they are not down, is awesome! I was fortunate enough to witness this a while ago. The 65 year old cross-dressers wearing clothes that could be painted on is hard not to laugh at as well. Then there are the old ladies who have nothing better to do then to faint on the bus, forcing everyone to get out and stand in the rain. It does that sometimes here too. Then there are the days when all the larger people seem to ride the autobus on the same day. It always has to be hot and sweaty out for this to happen of course. How could you not love transit?
