a year in sketches

its been a year. here is almost every sketch i did and kept. some are missing but thats ok. special shout out to jay senetchko, trent larson and cory evens for teaching me how to draw.

color tracking

The interface will be updated this week but to begin find something that is a unique color to track.
Then choose one of the color channel (red green or blue) buttons to suit your lighting/color situation
Click on the object of color that you wish to track.

if the ball white circle tracks to your object click the “snow button” .
the particles will be the same color as the object you are tracking,

then switch to video. and click around
try to catch a some particles on your tongue.

theres alot to do with this. on the list is adding either sliders or knobs to adjust color levels (i just dont have that much time now)

but the best solution to track is good old motion. this color will come in handy and probably be a good way to track things that arent moving but right now it takes alot of power.
Anyhoo thanks everyone that helped me on with this and the rest of the final project.

This should blow you away!

just to post stuff. i should post some work soon.

get the blue….no wait….GET THE WHITE!

my blog is having issues

here i tried to target the blue. it did work but with light variations it sucked. it took a while to trace but with the help of my super adviser jacob and some seb-lee particles we got it decent. whats goin on in the pic is flash is attaching the sparking particles to a numerical color value between 2 blues.

not that great. but what seemed to be snappy was grabbing super light grey to pure white. this seemed to work in any light (with just the screen illuminating it was pretty powerful)

heres some examples

hittin the blue. (the fact that sunlight is also blue may have played a roll in its sloppiness but all in all its pretty cool…)

hitting ther blue

hitting ther blue

and the white. (good thing im so pastey that I glow)

guess the computer isnt tanning me the way i was hoping…
can i really be that white??

update

i really suck so i dont have too much time for blogging. here is the latest thing.

ps i hate my love hate relationship with OOP is getting really intense. I wish it was Love-Love. maybe after next term.

after i loaded this into filezilla my swf’s didnt work. but maybe that was just me. heres the link. http://dd.ourvfs.com/dd12brian/SimpleCube.swf………………….. the animation is really neat. the cube below spins as it launches from the desktop. to me this is really cool.

guess the bottom pic got cut off but this should give you an idea

webcam bookcover flip

Just in-case you wanted to read a bedtime story to your child about business trends heres an example. In the scenario me and hendy are the parents who read children horror stories. what seems to save this thing is the fact that the lights are off and the computer screen works as a spotlight.

if you want to see this in action goto the address below. im having some issue embedding this guy

next step is making the page turn with the webcam and motion

incrementalWebcam step#2.

if you dont have a webcam see below. Every movement causes the camera to take a snapshot.

FLEX!

Twitter search.

I found some people online using FLEX in similar applications to the ones I would like to write for my final project. FLEX seems really cool. My first FLEX tutorial was pretty quick and easy to absorb. Apparently data binding in FLEX is super strong what impressed me most were the components and code-hinting and freekin easiness.

Oh , I have no idea what Twitter is but who cares, FLEX is cool!
