This design blog was created at the beginning of my year at Vancouver Film School. I have now graduated from the Digital Design program and created a new website to showcase my work and love for typography. Please follow me on over at www.typopath.ca and contact me if you’re feeling the need.
Though I have only been playing with my iPhone for a little over a day I wanted to give some thoughts so far on the device and the mobile platform. As with any device trying to take a platform to a different level there is bound to be lots of growng pains but the iPhone definitely shows lots of promise. The biggest issues I’ve had with it has been typing on a touch screen and the software. The software definitely has lots of bugs to fix and seems like it was a little rushed and unpolished to be called a 2.0 software release. Typing was definitely a little challenging at first and you have to rely on the autocorrect function to maintain a constant typing speed. I don’t think most people will be able to catch on as fast as I did but I think this could be solved by using a touch screen with tactile response, though this technology may not be adopted for a while. Wherever Apple decides to take this exciting new platform I will continue to follow in anticipation.
