So after a somewhat craggy start my final project is finally moving forward at a good pace. Shot the green screen footage today on the EX-1 and everything looks great. I will have to do some camera tracking just to make sure things match up properly. I think I am getting my second wind of inspiration on this project now.
So for my final project I am doing a thirty second commercial for the company TOMS shoes. TOMS is a shoe brand where its goal is to make life more comfortable. With every pair of TOMS shoes you buy, they will give a pair of their shoes to a child who needs them. The head of the company, Blake Mycoskie, makes various trips to parts of the world like South Africa, Argentina and Ethiopia to make a shoe drop or help out in other ways.
For my commercial I will be focusing primarily on the more stylish aesthetic side of the shoes and less on their philanthropist side. TOMS creates a shoe similar to a Mediterranean “Espadrille” and come in various colors and materials. The idea behind the commercial is to showcase them as a stylish shoe for the S/S season of 09 .
I am really happy to be able to work with an actual company to develop a commercial for them. Hopefully they will be pleased with the results. I’m very excited to work on it!
This is a 5 second identity video for the Astro Broadcasting Network. For 3D graphics we were asked to make a Broadcasting identity using reference to one that already exists. I chose an HBO intro from 1980.
Ed and I finished our motion piece on Bach the other day. I am really happy with how it turned out. We really worked hard early on to create a strong feel for the piece.
This is my final project for Interactive Development. I created a Papervision gallery of videos. There are still some bugs to fix but I thought I’d throw it up anyways. Thanks to Tyler Egeto for the help.
While using motion graphics in title sequences can add a lot of action to an otherwise drab part of a movie, sometimes the simplest solution is the most effective. This title sequence for the French movie “Les Parapluies de Cherbourg” does just that.
