Book review #1

March 31st, 2009

Recently I have been lucky enough to have some free time to my self, in which I’ve been doing a bit of reading, a lot of reading actually. The first book I have finished is called No one belongs here more than you, by the artist/performer/writer Miranda July. This book initially caught my attention because of its bright yellow cover, I have to admit that I am sometimes known to be drawn to a book by its cover — I cant help it I’m a visual person. Nonetheless, the stories in this book are far more colorful, and adventurous than their cover. The book consists of a collection of short stories that are so random, playful, and crazy that you will actually feel like you are reading someones private diary, or listening in on a persons deepest, most intimate thoughts. She says things that most people would only think and never dare to say out loud, let alone print and publish. If you feel that you need any more persuasion, have a look at the first few pages of the book which are filled with several highly regarded reviews by the likes of Vogue, Time magazine, and the New York Observer. Then go and visit her fun and witty website.
